His journey in magic began in 2010, growing from personal fascination into years of study, practice, performance, teaching, and creative development. Over time, Uki has built a style that treats magic as more than a collection of tricks. His performances are designed around timing, storytelling, music, interaction, and the shared experience between performer and audience.
From Street to Stage
Standing Ovation produced and promoted Uki's original live productions, Street To Stage and Street To Stage 2, giving him a platform to bring the intimacy of close-up magic into a featured performance environment.
His performance credits include:
- Mountain View Art & Wine Festival
- Burlingame Fall Festival
- Hayward Juneteenth Celebration
- Ameswell Hotel
- Buzzworks
- Resident performances at Barbary Coast Dispensary in San Francisco
- Weddings, New Year's Eve celebrations, and numerous private events throughout the Bay Area
Uki has also performed alongside other working professional magicians and continues to expand his presence within the broader magic community.
Competition Recognition
In 2025, Uki earned First Place in Stage Magic and First Place in Close-Up Magic at Oakland Magic Circle competitions.
The Oakland Magic Circle has served the Bay Area magic community since 1925, providing generations of magicians with a place to study, perform, compete, and advance the art.
Performer, Teacher & Student of the Art
Teaching is an important part of Uki's work.
Through the Mind-Blowing Magic Tricks Class, he introduces guests to practical magic while also connecting those techniques to the performers, traditions, terminology, and history that shaped modern conjuring.
His continuing work at Vanishings keeps him connected to the working magic community and to the ongoing study and preservation of the craft.
Uki also writes The Conjuror's Chronicle, a newsletter exploring magic, its history, performers, techniques, and culture.
Music as Part of the Magic
Uki studied Audio Production at The Art Institute of California - San Francisco and continues to compose, produce, and curate original music.
His music has been distributed through platforms including Spotify, Pandora, YouTube Music, and Apple Music, with original releases that include Drive, Black, F.A.N., and Henah.
That musical background is also part of his work as a magician. Uki produces and selects music for his routines, using sound, timing, movement, and visual performance together rather than treating music simply as background accompaniment.
For Uki, magic and music are complementary forms of storytelling.
Creativity, Connection & Wonder
Beyond entertainment, Uki sees magic as a way to encourage creativity, build connection, and introduce others to an art form that has shaped his own life.
He has a particular interest in helping younger magicians develop their skills and has expressed a long-term vision of creating expanded educational opportunities for future generations of performers.
Whether performing inches away from a guest, engaging an entire room, teaching a class, writing about magic, or producing the music behind his routines, Uki's objective remains consistent:
Create moments of surprise, connection, wonder, and enjoyment that people remember after the performance ends.
